By Shukri Rahman Putrajaya, 19 December 2004: Protasco Bhd Executive Chairman, Dato’ Hasnur Rabiain Ismail urged the Knowledge Management (KM) Champions led by Ms Eunice Lee, Senior General Manager, Human Resources and the Heads of Divisions and Departments to ensure that the Group’s member companies qualify for the planned first ever Malaysian Emerging Knowledge Organisation (MEKO) Award. Speaking at the Malam Gemilang Batik Protasco Annual Dinner at the IOI Palm Garden Hotel here tonight, he said, “ This I believe will provide a tangible challenge that will help us to focus all our KM efforts.” At present KM initiatives are being implemented in varying degrees at HCM, Roadcare and Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College (KLIUC). MEKO is spearheaded by JT Frank Academy, currently the country’s largest KM provider with more than 4,000 graduates. Separately, its Chief Knowledge Architect, Dr Frankie Ow Chee Keong said MEKO is conceived to “inspire Malaysian organisations to adopt a structured road map to implement the practice of KM.” Speaking mainly in English at the Annual Dinner, Dato’ Hasnur reminded staff members on the importance of providing excellent customer service (including internal customers) and having a good command of English, to support the company’s pursuit of new domestic and overseas business opportunities. He asked, “How prepared are we to become the new corporate warriors in the K-Economy?” Dato’ Hasnur also re-affirmed Protasco’s commitment towards wholesome and continuous training. Staff and guests were entertained by the highly talented Jone Bond, who also acted as the Emcee, as well as by Protasco’s own talents. Among the outstanding staff performances were the Wayang Kulit Manusia (Melaka) and Tarian Poco-Poco (Perlis). Shamsiah Mat Piah and Mohd Johari Dollah bagged the Batik Appeal Award and Batik Creative Award respectively. Another highlight was the crowning of “Miss Protasco 2004”, which went to the lucky male staff, “ Ms Lakshmi”- from among the three who volunteered and received ample make-ups from their female partners. As usual, there were also plenty of lucky draws! |
