By Shukri Rahman Kuala Lumpur, 23 June 2004: Protasco Bhd successfully held its 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Sunway Lagoon Resort today. Deftly chaired by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ir. Hasnur Rabiain Ismail, members unanimously passed all the nine ordinary resolutions. The Chairman capably answered a number of queries concerning the company’s Annual Report and first quarter results raised by two members, Mr J Y Yeow and Mr K W Wong. Dato’ Hasnur said Protasco is exploring various business opportunities overseas in countries such as Libya, Sudan, China, Cambodia and Bangladesh. He added, “ Definitely, we have to expand overseas. However, as a young company, we also prefer to be prudent.” In addition, Protasco will continue to focus on its niche in pavement recycling technology. On the company’s relatively strong cash position, Dato’ Hasnur said it is maintaining it for rainy days as well as to prepare for “quite huge” financing requirements for viable investments locally and overseas. At the meeting, both Dato’ Ir. Hasnur and Dato’ Ir. Chong Ket Pen were re-elected as Protasco Bhd’s directors. The AGM, which started at 10.30 am, ended at 11.05 am. |
