7th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM AND EXHIBITION ON GEOINFORMATION (ISG 2008)

7th International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation (ISG 2008) is the premier educational event for professionals involved in geoinformation technologies, which include Geographical Information System (GIS), Geomatics, Global Positioning System (GPS), Remote Sensing, Surveying and Mapping, Hydrography, Photogrammetry, Location Based Services, Geodetic, e-Cadaster and Astronomy.

This year the ISG 2008 symposium will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, from 13-15 October 2008. The theme for the ISG 2008 symposium is "ENHANCING INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH INNOVATIVE GEOINFORMATION TECHNOLOGY”

KLIUC is the first IPTS to organize this event. Previous organizers are Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), The Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (ISM) and Malaysian Centre for Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MaCGDI).

This is the 7th year of the ISG 2008 symposium. There about 300 participants in the last year event organized by UTM. The participants are from various countries such as Malaysia, Brunei, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Middle East, Africa, U.S.A., India, Pakistan, Germany, Korea, Thailand, etc..

This is the 2nd international conference organised by KLIUC during the 10th year anniversary in 2008.
The participants who should attend for the event are professionals, experts and practitioners in the private and public sectors including surveyors, academicians, engineers, cartographers, geodesists, photogrammetrists, GPS/GNSS related user, rural and urban planners, researchers, remote sensing professionals, navigators, army/navy, GIS professionals, port administrator and professionals in organizations who are interested in using geoinformation technologies to meet their operational and business goal.

The symposium will focus on the following topics i.e. Civil and Infrastructure, GIS Application, Remote Sensing Application, GPS/GNSS, Urban Geoinformation & Infrastructure Development, Photogrammetry, Survey & Mapping, Hydrography and E-cadaster.


The primary objective of the ISG 2008 is to gather professionals and industry experts from the geoinformation field globally to disseminate their knowledge and share their expertise and vast experience with participants. This is a perfect venue for the steady flow of latest technology in geoinformation. The previous conferences have attracted hundreds of key decision-makers in these fields.

The 7th International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation will certainly provide an excellent opportunity for the sharing of ideas and experiences in geoinformation and for networking with fellow academicians and practitioners internationally.
The registration fees per person for the 3 days symposium for Local Participant is RM750.00 and Local Full-time Student is RM400.00 only. The registration fees will include conference dinner, keynote sessions, technical sessions, exhibition, conference proceeding in CD, lunches, coffee-breaks and related social events. Cancellations will not be refunded but substitutions of participants are welcome. Walk in registration is accepted during the symposium.

There will an exhibition that will provide the state-of-the-art geoinformation products and services. 15 booths will be permanently located adjacent to the main conference area. Participating as an Exhibitor Sponsor at the 7th International Symposium & Exhibition on Geoinformation 2008 is an excellent opportunity for vendors to gain market exposure,gather knowledge, and network with key government officials and industry peers.
