From national institute to industry partner

The IKRAM story began in 1952 as an engineering laboratory for the Penang Airport project and grew into the research and training institute of the Public Works Department. Privatised in 1997 and led today by Ikram Works, Protasco's engineering and consultancy division puts that laboratory heritage to work for public agencies, contractors and developers.

Services span geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering, pavement and transportation engineering, structural assessment and forensics, construction engineering, product certification under the K-MARK scheme, and professional technical training, delivered from offices and accredited laboratories across Malaysia.
